The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kazakhstan visited the Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant
The delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan, headed by Ambassador Koo Hong-seok, paid an official visit to the Almaty-based Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan automobile plant, a subsidiary of Astana Motors.
Members of the delegation could see the car production process, including welding, painting of the body and plastic parts, and assembly of the exterior, interior, and chassis.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea noted that there are many Hyundai cars on the roads in different parts of Kazakhstan, which indicates the brand’s high popularity among Kazakhstanis.
«Astana Motors is the first company to introduce completely knocked down (CKD) production of Hyundai cars in Kazakhstan, greatly contributing to the development of the brand. Hyundai is proud to be a top-valued brand. However, we know that the world is still affected by logistics problems caused by the pandemic, and we are aware that Astana Motors is making every effort to overcome these difficulties and produce more cars for Kazakhstanis,” said Ambassador Koo Hong-seok.
Ambassador Koo Hong-seok also thanked Astana Motors for its support for Korean engineers working at the plant during the pandemic. Generally, Ambassador Koo Hong-seok noted the high level of safety and organization of the work process at the plant and emphasized that «people always come first”.
At the end of the meeting, the embassy delegation wished well-being and successful development to the plant team.
