The Machine Builder Day is the most important holiday for Astana Motors! The festive events devoted to this day started on September 22 with the annual Kazakhstan Machine Builder Forum, where the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development awarded Honored Machine Builder lapel badges to Kairat Yerezhepov, Deputy Operations Director at Hyundai Trans Almaty, and Alexander Bayer, Head of Painting Shop at Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan.

The climax of the celebration was on October 22. Employees of the Hyundai Trans Almaty and Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plants were awarded certificates of appreciation, gift certificates, gold, silver and bronze badges of Astana Motors.

Hyundai Trans Almaty and Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan are production enterprises of Astana Motors.

Hyundai Trans Almaty was opened in 2011 and manufactures Hyundai, Golden Dragon, MAZ and Foton specialized commercial vehicles.

Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan has been making Hyundai passenger cars since 2020. This year, the plant has reached its full capacity.

In the fourth quarter of 2022, construction of car component plants will commence in Almaty’s Industrial Zone. The project investments amount to 15 million dollars. The area of production facilities is 9,500 square meters. The enterprises will provide 175 jobs. The launch is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.

Construction of a multi-brand plant that will produce cars of China’s car industry leaders — Chery, Haval and Changan, is also scheduled. The fundamental difference of this new industrial facility for Kazakhstan is that it will produce all cars by CKD assembly only, with body welding and painting. The production capacity of the multi-brand plant will enable to make up to 90 thousand cars a year, including 60% for export to CIS countries. Investments will amount to over 100 billion tenge.

The enterprise will provide about 2,200 high-skill jobs, each contributing to the creation of up to ten jobs in other industries.
