On September 23, the 10th Kazakhstan Machine Builder Forum was held in Astana. It was noted at this main industry event of the republic that the domestic machine building industry is making a strong contribution to the republic’s stable economic development, and over the years of industrialization the volume of machine building production increased by 6 times and amounted to 2.3 trillion tenge in 2021, and the industry’s growth over the last three years has been 20% on average. The Government and the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development assured the participants that the policy aimed to support domestic manufacturers would be continued.

Apart from infrastructure support measures, machine builders were acknowledges by the Ministry — distinctions were awarded to the industry’s best workers in a solemn ceremony. Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan and Hyundai Trans Almaty employees were awarded Qurmetti Mashina Zhassaushi (Honored Machine Builder) lapel badges.

Kairat Yerezhepov, Deputy Operations Director at Hyundai Trans Almaty, and Alexander Bayer, Head of Painting Shop at Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan, were recognized as Honored Machine Builders by the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development.

The plant workers highly appreciated the attention paid by the Ministry.

«At a time like this, I feel proud for the industry development, for the achievements of my colleagues and machine builders from other enterprises of Kazakhstan, for our work being recognized and distinguished rather than for myself. It is quite inspiring!” Kairat Yerezhepov noted.

Alexander Bayer also shared his impression of the ceremony:
«When you work, you don’t think of any awards! The recognition by the state and sincere congratulations from the colleagues inspire so much. My status has also changed — apart from a certified machine builder, I’ve become an honored one.

Hyundai Trans Almaty and Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan are production enterprises of Astana Motors.

Hyundai Trans Almaty was opened in 2011 and manufactures Hyundai, Golden Dragon, MAZ and Foton specialized commercial vehicles. Kairat Yerezhepov joined the plant in the same year. By the way, his industry career started in 2003 at Astana Motors.

Alexander Bayer has been working in machine building from when he graduated from the university, for over 14 years now. Alexander joined Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan, a Hyundai passenger car plant, in 2020, six months before the official launch, and was directly involved in establishing the plant’s production cycles.
