Sales of Changan cars in Kazakhstan launch on September 29. Low-cost and other models were presented to car experts in Kazakhstan last Wednesday.

The brand has a new official distributor — Silkway Auto Kazakhstan, a subsidiary of Astana Motors. Before, the cars were supplied to Kazakhstan market by the Russian brand representative. For the «direct” debut, Changan has chosen the most popular cars from its line-up: CS35PLUS and CS75FL crossovers and the UNI-K high-tech flagship. All cars will be delivered to Kazakhstan directly from the factory in China.

Two models were presented to journalists and auto bloggers at the first presentation. The price of low-cost and compact crossover CS35PLUS is just 8,990,000 tenge for basic configuration, which is way lower than that of similar-class cars from other brands! The model is available with a 1.6 l and 117 hp petrol engine and two transmission options: automatic and manual.

Average-size crossover CS75FL is equipped with 1.8 l and 150 hp turbocharged petrol engine. The automatic transmission is made by a well-known Japanese company, AISIN. The car has a four-wheel drive. The basic configuration offers six airbags, climate control and a multimedia system with a 10.25-inch screen. The price of CS75FL starts from 14,490,000 tenge.

Changan’s flagship full-size UNI-K crossover will be officially presented on September 28, right before the sales launch. The car boasts top options even in its basic version: 2.0 226 hp turbo engine, latest AISIN 8-speed automatic transmission, state-of-the-art intelligent security systems and a premium Sony audio system. The start configuration is available with a front-wheel drive, two other versions — with a four-wheel drive manufactured by the well-known Borg Warner. The basic configuration will cost 17,490,000 tenge.

In Kazakhstan, Changan is presented by Silkway Auto Kazakhstan, a subsidiary of Astana Motors. The Chinese side has selected the distributor based on the 30-year history and reputation of Astana Motors, while the history of Changan boasts full 160 years! Changan International Corporation ranks first among Chinese car brands, is a top ten technological leader of the global car industry and makes the top four Chinese car brands. The reputation is supported by demand: the group sold 2.3 million cars worldwide in the last year alone.

By the way, 700 Changan cars will be supplied to our market this year. According to Sergey Galkin, Director of the Changan official distributor in Kazakhstan, the first batch has already arrived at Kazakhstan and is getting ready for the September 29 sales launch in Almaty and Astana. «We have a very optimistic forecast for Changan brand development, so we plan to bring as many as 6 thousand cars to the dealerships next year and expand the model range. Kazakhstanis will have a wide choice and access to showrooms and dealerships in all regions,” the head of distribution comments.

The factory warranty for Changan cars is 3 years or 100 thousand kilometers. The warranty and scheduled service will be provided by dealerships. The first Changan dealership was opened in a new Mycar Almaty auto center, the other one — in Astana. The distributor plans to expand the regional network to 10 dealerships by the end of the year, covering Atyrau, Karaganda, Kostanai, Pavlodar, Uralsk, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Shymkent, and to bring the dealerships number to 18 by the end of 2023.
