PREMIERE SCREENING OF THE FILMS

During a private premiere screening, Astana Motors presented the films made for the contest «Together Through Time and Distance”. The best stories from the life of ordinary Kazakhstanis formed the basis of ten short films.

The premiere screening of the films marked the official start of the Internet voting on the site http://films.astana-motors.kz

People could cast their votes for the film they liked and become participants in the weekly prize draw from Astana Motors.

«It all started 25 years ago. We were young, we were innovators, and we founded Astana Motors. Being an innovator is a big mission. We built the first auto centers, started to establish here a Japanese culture of service. And 25 years have passed … We see that many people are also connected with Astana Motors with their personal stories and incredible adventures. Many of them remembered with special warmth our first promotional video «There are no obstacles for love.” So, we have come up with an idea to announce a contest and to screen the best stories,” said President of Astana Motors Nurlan Smagulov.

According to the rules of the contest, a competent jury chose the top ten stories, and on the basis of these stories the scripts were written. Within just a month, the production studios held castings, shot mini-movies, and six Kazakhstani composers wrote music to the films. It is worth noting that in total more than 80 applications were received from Kazakhstanis during the contest. All of the teams worked in equal conditions with the same budget of 1 million tenge. As a result, there were ten stories, ten scenarios, ten studios, ten melodies, and ten films. The film-making was supervised by famous film director Bakhyt Kilibayev. These films are about their love, friendship, mutual understanding, compassion, and mercy. All of these themes are equally close to every person.

«These films are ten different universes; all of them are of different genres. There are sad and tragic stories. There are stories where heroes overcome circumstances. These are the films with human energy, with an idea, they are talented, diverse, and I am happy that the films were shot in just one month. It’s very cool,” noted Director and Project Manager Bakhyt Kilibayev.

Sanzhar Madiyev, Gaziza Tleubay, Dina Tasbulatova, Dinara Baktybayeva, Akan Satayev, Tolepbergen Baisakalov and many others took part in the creation of the anthology. The works of the ten finalists will be evaluated in two stages: the work of the directors will be evaluated by the members of the professional jury and by the ordinary people of Kazakhstan. The audience voting will be available on the website of Astana Motors. In addition to the main awards to the winners, prizes will be given to active participants in the Internet voting.

We remind that Astana Motors turns 25 years old in 2017. In celebration of this anniversary, the company holds a number of social and charity events during the year. For many years, the company implements a number of social investment programs, assisting the development of culture, art, education, and sport. So, in early October, President of the company Nurlan Smagulov presented a picture «Jackie Kennedy” of Andy Warhol to Abylkhan Kasteyev Art Museum and provided an opportunity of a free visit to the Museum: in October every Almaty resident and a guest may visit the exhibitions of the Museum for free.
