ASTANA MOTORS INVESTED 9.5 MILLION TENGE INTO CONTSRUCTION OF THE ARTiSHOСK THEATER

The implementation of the project, according to initial estimates, required 21 million tenge. However, later there appeared new expenses related to the adaptation of a fire alarm system, ventilation, video surveillance, air-conditioning, and electricity to the theatrical specifics, increasing the cost of repair.

Fans provided great support to the theater; 4.2 million tenge was collected through a crowd-funding platform, while another 1 million tenge was collected through a special box installed in the theater.

Astana Motors made the largest contribution to the construction of the theater at the amount of 9.5 million tenge. This amount covered all major repair and finishing costs. MEGA Management Development advised ARTiSHOCK on construction issues.

The theater itself invested 5 million tenge of the collected funds in preparatory construction works.

—  It's too early to sum up the final results, but I can say that we are doing something inspiring. It’s incredible, I would say, when artists, society, and business collaborate for the first time for the sake of art, doing something new and very important for everyone. Now we are experiencing an amazing and, at the same time, difficult period. It’s a period of growth, which the theater has not previously encountered. When you are living in a small «apartment» at the basement level for 16 years, moving to a big house is an extraordinary situation. Sometimes it is very difficult to understand what else you need in your new place. It turns out that now the entire household, from the ironing board and printer to dishwashers and coffee machines, needs to be multiplied by two. Of course, all this imposes additional costs, which we did not even think about initially. Support for the construction of a large stage is still relevant, and we are ready to accept it,” said Managing Director of the ARTiSHOCK theater Anastasiya Tarasova.

The launch of the new stage is scheduled for October 18. By this time, the theater plans to complete all construction works as well as installation of sound and lighting equipment. The big stage will be opened with a play called #PRYAMOPOTOLEBI. This original play of the ARTiSHOCK theater about Almaty is one of the box-office hits.
