The opening of the new children’s sports and health center was held in Agadyr village of Shetsk district of Karaganda region. The Akim of Karaganda region, the President of Astana Group, and many other officials attended the opening ceremony.

«Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has set the task before local executive bodies to improve the welfare of each inhabited locality. In response to this request, a comprehensive plan for socio-economic development of Agadyr village for 2010−2013 has been adopted, and a lot of work has already been done.”

The Head of the region noted that the opening of the sports and health center was held within the framework of the implementation of this plan and thanks to the financial support of Astana Motors. «These and other social facilities are good gifts for the 20th anniversary of the Independence of Kazakhstan,” underlined the Akim of the region. The construction of the new children’s sports and health center cost 125 million tenge. Astana Motors provided these funds in accordance with the Memorandum signed with the regional Akimat. The construction of the public facility started in March this year. There are a gym and a pool where the children of Agadyr village will be engaged in sports, such as sambo, Kazaksha kures, boxing, swimming, volleyball, and aerobics. In addition, a stadium and a youth sports school were renovated in Agadyr village within the framework of the comprehensive plan.
