Hyundai is at the Top Again: the Brand’s Q1 2025 Sales Hit a Record High

Hyundai sales hit a record high in the first quarter of 2025 over in the entire history of official sales in the Kazakhstan car market – 11,705 units. The brand’s sales rose 26% year on year (9,277 units in Q1 2024).
Thus, Hyundai cars made in Kazakhstan have maintained best sales in the local market for several years in a row.
“Hyundai continues to strengthen its position as a market leader, despite the car retail landscape becoming increasingly competitive every year. The strong growth in Hyundai sales in Kazakhstan is a testament to the brand’s well-deserved recognition among our people. Looking ahead, we plan to expand not only our model lineup, but also our dealer network — offering local customers even more attractive deals,” said Marat Smagulov, Director of Hyundai Auto Kazakhstan.
The brand’s bestseller, the TUCSON crossover, remains the most popular model in the Hyundai lineup. From January to March, 4,876 units of this model were sold. Its versatility, practicality, high level of comfort, and advanced safety technologies have rightfully earned it recognition as the leader of the roads. The price for the bestseller starts at 14,990,000 tenge.
The ELANTRA sedan ranks second among popular Hyundai models. In the first quarter, 2,054 units were sold — a 123% increase year-on-year (920 units in Q1 2024). This impressive growth highlights the strong appeal and demand for the model among Kazakhstani consumers. The updated ELANTRA is available with three engine options — 1.5L, 1.6L, and 2.0L — paired with either a CVT or automatic transmission. The car is offered in nine trim levels, with prices starting from 10,690,000 tenge.
An all-new model from the brand, the MUFASA crossover, deserves special mention. The car immediately became a hit with buyers in Kazakhstan and ranked third in Hyundai’s sales, accounting for 21% — meaning every fifth Hyundai sold in March was a MUFASA. In March alone, 955 units of this model were sold in Kazakhstan. This reflects the successful debut of the crossover in the domestic market and the recognition it has received from Kazakhstani drivers who value its comfort and innovation. The starting price is 14,490,000 tenge.
In the first quarter of 2025, Hyundai sold 1,276 SANTA FE units. The model showed the highest sales growth in the brand’s lineup — a 265% increase year-on-year (350 units in Q1 2024). It proves the growing interest of Kazakhstani consumers in the new-generation flagship crossover. The SANTA FE is available in 5 trim levels, including an exclusive Calligraphy version. The starting price for the car is 21,190,000 tenge.
The distributor, Hyundai Auto Kazakhstan, offers attractive deals on the most popular Hyundai models through the Hyundai Finance program.
