The grand opening of an automotive components and accessories plant took place in the Zhambyl district of the Almaty region. The ceremony was attended by the founder of Astana Motors Nurlan Smagulov, CEO of Astana Motors Beknur Nesipbayev, representatives of the Almaty region Akimat, the Ministry of Industry and Construction, and the management and employees of the QazElastoPlast plant, led by its founder and Director Abylai Dzhakishev.
“The project was fully implemented using QazElastoPlast’s own funds, amounting to 600 million tenge. The plant’s production capacity is 300,000 sets of car mats per year, or over 1,000 tons of finished products. The production facility has a total area of 1,000 sq. m and created 30 jobs,” said the plant owner and Director Abylay Dzhakishev.
During the ceremony, an off-take contract for the supply of automotive accessories was signed with Hyundai’s distributor in Kazakhstan, represented by its Director Marat Smagulov.

Nurlan Smagulov pointed out the fundamental importance of Astana Motors supporting the development of its own automotive component production in Kazakhstan.
“We are focused on building a cluster of auto component companies so that more and more parts and accessories can be produced domestically. Until recently, even car mats weren’t produced in Kazakhstan, but today we are seeing tangible results. We are looking forward to developing our cooperation and expanding its capabilities for the benefit of the industry and our customers,” said Nurlan Smagulov.

Ablai Dzhakishev noted that cooperation with the Astana Motors group of companies was a key factor in the plant’s smooth launch.
“Cooperation with the authorized Hyundai distributor and other Astana Motors companies gives us confidence in securing orders for our plant and also enables us to achieve OES (official equipment supplier) status. This is a great honor for us and places a great responsibility on us in terms of compliance with all international technical standards and the production of high-quality products. QazElastoPlast fully shares and aligns with the principles and values of Astana Motors. We are focused on developing our industry, localizing production, and providing consumers with high-quality Kazakhstani products.”
QazElastoPlast became the first company in Kazakhstan to produce car mats made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). This modern, environmentally friendly polymer material combines strength, flexibility, and resistance to external influences. The production technology is based on extrusion and vacuum forming using aluminum dies (press molds).
The production of TPE mats is the first stage of production. In the future, the company plans to launch the production of press molds, pile mats, fender liners, mud flaps, and sealing rubber, in order to successfully obtain accreditation from international automakers and obtain OEM (official equipment manufacturer) status. This will provide new impetus and the opportunity to begin direct deliveries to domestic and international automobile manufacturers.

Car mats will be sold under the company’s own TOSEM brand. The company’s primary customers will be official distributors, dealers, and online and offline stores selling spare parts and accessories.
The regional Akimat supported the launch of the QazElastoPlast plant, noting that it represents a significant contribution to the region’s industrialization and job creation, and another step toward reducing import dependence and transitioning to environmentally friendly production technologies.
