On December 16, 2023, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar paid a working visit to Hefei (Anhui Province) at the invitation of the Chinese authorities. It is one of the major industrial, innovative, scientific and educational centers in China.

On this visit, Roman Sklyar held negotiations with the Secretary of the Party Committee of Anhui Province, Han Jun, and the Chairman of the People’s Government of Anhui Province, Wang Qingxian. During the negotiations, the parties discussed issues relevant to further deepening of trade, economic, investment, industrial, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the Kazakhstan regions and Anhui Province.

At the end, a ceremony was held to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between Astana Motors LLP and the Chinese automobile manufacturer Chery International Co., Ltd. The document provides for the development of strategic cooperation between the above-mentioned companies from the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People’s Republic of China in terms of joint construction of the automotive industrial park in the Almaty Industrial Zone.

In mid-October, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Almaty between the National Paralympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Chery automobile brand, represented by Astana Motors. The trilateral memorandum was signed by Kairat Boranbayev, President of the National Paralympic Committee of Kazakhstan, Zhu Shandong, Vice President of Chery International, and Beknur Nesipbayev, General Director of Astana Motors.
