On October 17, in Beijing (China), BYD Auto Industry and Astana Motors signed an agreement authorizing the Kazakh company to represent the BYD brand and supply new energy vehicles to the Republic of Kazakhstan
The signing ceremony took place within the framework of a business forum in order to strengthen bilateral relations, expand economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian ties between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People’s Republic of China. The business forum was held on the eve of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation under the theme “Green Development”. It celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road initiative launched by Mr. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CCP Central Committee.
A transnational high-tech company founded in 1995, BYD is active in business areas such as automotive engineering, railway transport, new energy and electronics, and has more than 30 industrial parks in China, the USA, Canada, Japan, Brazil, Hungary and India.
BYD’s automotive division, BYD Auto, founded in 2003, specializes in the development of electric and rechargeable hybrid vehicles.
Today, BYD is the No. 1 automobile brand in China, the Chinese automaking giant and the world leader in sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs). BYD outperformed Tesla in sales in 2022. Global experts predict that BYD will top battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales by the end of 2023, again leaving Tesla behind.

As a true leader in green energy, BYD is proud to announce its commitment to produce more than 5.1 million NEVs worldwide. Operating in 400 cities in 70 countries and regions on six continents, BYD took a major step in 2022 by ceasing production of ICE vehicles and focusing exclusively on BEVs and PHEVs. Supporting the initiative to “Cool the Earth by 1°C”, BYD continues to use technological innovation to improve lives by providing sustainable mobility for a brighter future.
BYD is gaining an increasing share of the global market, expanding its lineup with electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. In the first half of 2023, BYD exported over 80,000 vehicles and expanded its presence in several countries around the world, including the Republic of Uzbekistan, where Astana Motors is the authorized BYD dealer. To date, Astana Motors has seven BYD dealerships in Uzbekistan. By the end of 2023, Astana Motors will increase the number of BYD dealerships in Uzbekistan to 12 and sell 9,400 NEVs.
