The biggest: Chaplin Cinemas opened a concert hall
It can accommodate 346 people and is equipped with the largest cinema screen in Central Asia — 13.5 by 25 meters.
The concert hall was opened by Seitzhan Esmagambetov, General Director of the MEGA Mall franchise, Dmitry Kiriyenko, Commercial Director of Chaplin Cinemas, and Nurtas Adambay, one of the most successful film producers in the country. The guests of the presentation, among whom were many actors and other representatives of the film industry, were the first to appreciate the scale of the new hall.
Its area is 600 square meters, and it accommodates 346 people. The hall has a screen size of 25 by 13.5 meters — this is the largest screen not only in cinemas in Kazakhstan, but also in the whole of Central Asia. Christie projectors provide a high-quality picture on a screen of this size. It provides image formats Real D and Real 3D with bright and vivid picture. Dolby Atmos sound technology allows you to hear sounds as if you are inside a movie.
The area of the stage in the concert hall is more than 150 meters, and it's 7 meters in depth. It is comparable to the size of theatrical stages. That is why Astana Ballet and students of the Seleznev choreographic school performed at the opening of the hall.
Also at the opening of the concert hall, the first screening of the Kazakh film «Black black man» took place. Film director Adilkhan Yerzhanov won the Asian «Oscar» — Asia Pacific Screen Awards-2019 in the «Best Director» category.
Megaplex Chaplin Cinemas is located on two floors of the shopping and entertainment center MEGA Alma-Ata. There are 15 comfortable cinemas, including a concert hall and a children's cinema, spacious halls, a children's playroom, a lounge bar and a self-service cinema supermarket.
The distance to the screen in the halls of this cinema is a meter and a half more than in most others, which means you can comfortably watch a movie, even sitting on the front rows. All rooms are equipped with very comfortable chairs of the Italian manufacturer Lino Sonego, and there are futuristic movies-esque high-comfort chairs on the balconies of the premium class.
