PRODUCTION AGREEMENT FOR OMODA JAECOO VEHICLES AT ASTANA MOTORS PLANT SIGNED IN CHINA

A technical licensing agreement marking a new stage in the localisation of OMODA JAECOO vehicle production in Kazakhstan has been signed in Shanghai. The document was signed by Nurlan Smagulov, Founder of Astana Motors, and Liu Yang, Vice President of Chery Holding Group.
The agreement was signed on 16 July during the Kazakhstan–China Roundtable with High-Tech Companies, held as part of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to China.

The agreement provides for the production of OMODA JAECOO vehicles at the Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan plant. Series production and sales of Kazakhstan-made vehicles are scheduled to begin in August 2026.
“The technical licensing agreement sets out the terms for the transfer of technologies, production documentation, quality standards and licences required to manufacture OMODA JAECOO vehicles in Kazakhstan,” said Nurlan Smagulov.
In April 2026, Astana Motors became the official distributor of the OMODA and JAECOO brands in Kazakhstan. OMODA’s technology-focused crossovers and JAECOO’s adventure-oriented SUVs are export brands of Chery Automobile.
