NURLAN SMAGULOV TOOK PART IN A CHARITY AUCTION

At a charity auction Astana Motors acquired a bicycle of Vincenzo Nibali, the Tour de France 2014 champion. All the proceeds were used to purchase equipment for the departments of infant intensive care of the perinatal centers of Kazakhstan.

Mr. Smagulov purchased the bicycle on which the leader of Astana Pro Team, Vincenzo Nibali, won Tour de France 2014. As a result of the bidding, the final price of the lot reached 51 million tenge.

«Our company is actively involved in charity, as it helps people of different social groups and supports culture and sports,” the President of Astana Group emphasized. «This is our concept, our lifestyle, and our philosophy. Therefore, I am happy that my hobby for cycling, support for Astana Pro Team, and the opportunity to help children were brought together. We will put this bicycle in the MEGA Alma-Ata Shopping Mall. I think everyone will enjoy seeing it.”

Among other lots of the charity auction, there were a champion jumpsuit of Dmitry Gruzdev, wheels of Michele Scarpone’s bike as well as his yellow helmet, a champion T-shirt of Vincenzo Nibali, the first Vino bike, tennis rackets of Yaroslava Shvedova, Galina Voskoboeva, Mikhail Kukushkin, Martina Hingis, and Rafael Nadal. In total, the auction raised 87 million tenge.

About 300 people took part in the annual bike ride of Rixos Borovoe. The Olympic champion, Alexander Vinokurov, and the winner of the Tour de France 2014, Vincenzo Nibali, participated in this event. The managers and employees of large local and foreign companies and representatives of mass media took part in the bike ride along the route with a length of 30 km.
