On October 8–9, Satbayev University hosted a unique training organized by Astana Motors.

This was dedicated to cooperation between the leading technical university of Kazakhstan and Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant (a subsidiary of Astana Motors) initiated in 2023 to enable sharing of experience by company's professionals with future engineers and automotive professionals.
Last year, Satbayev University and Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant signed a memorandum of cooperation on talent pooling, training of mechanical engineering scientists, and on joint development of production processes and training programs. The parties have developed a road map including development of theoretical and practical programs, deployment of mentoring and dual training system, and training of technical and managerial staff of MBA and DBA levels. A branch of the Department of Mechanical Engineering is to be established at the premises of Astana Motors, as well as an R&D center for implementation of joint scientific and research developments and laboratories. Today, Hyundai Motor Company on a regular basis provides training materials, mock-ups, models of units and assemblies for training future Kazakhstani professionals and holds meetings with those who are willing to share practical knowledge with future professionals.

Thus, within the framework of cooperation, a unique training was organized by Astana Motors. Hyundai Motor Company's leading engineers Andy Lee and Taylor Son from South Korea met with Kazakhstani students to introduce them to the latest developments and achievements in the automotive industry and to answer their most burning questions.

The speakers presented advanced technologies in the field of electrical and electronic systems and electric vehicles, gave an overview of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) electronic technology and demonstrated the basic principles of the system. After presentation, students were given the opportunity to communicate with the speakers, explore the E-GMP EV simulator platform for Hyundai electric vehicles and IONIQ 5 EV on display at the venue.

Participants evaluate the meeting as yet another step towards strengthening professional cooperation between the University and one of the largest automotive companies in the world. For students of Satbayev University, communication with such high-class professionals is a great opportunity to learn about the most recent developments and trends in the automotive industry from those who not only work in the industry, but also develop it by implementing the latest innovations. Besides, for many of them Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan is a potential future employer as the plant is actively talent pooling in the field of mechanical engineering. To date, the company has over 1,300 employees. Meiram Begentayev, Principal of Satbayev University notes that such close cooperation with partner companies enables students to develop all practical skills required for working at production facilities even before they graduate.
