The news was released at the Astana Finance Days International Forum in Astana, where the Kazakh company Astana Motors announced the launch of the MyCharge project to arrange electric charging station infrastructure based on technology made by TELD, the leader in China’s electric charging infrastructure sector.

To date, four MyCharge stations have been opened, including at the MEGA Alma-Ata shopping center, Hyundai Premium Al-Farabi dealerships, Hyundai Suyunbay in Almaty, and at the Qonaev City shopping center in Qonaev. These charging stations offer fast charging points from 80 to 480 kW, with a charging power of up to 240 kW per terminal. The terminals use GBT (Chinese standard) and CCS2 (European standard) connectors.

“New energy vehicles are a global trend that is bound to come to Kazakhstan, and the issue of charging infrastructure needs to be addressed today. We put first quality rather than quantity and plan to build a network of safe, high-tech charging stations with advanced TELD equipment,” said Akylbek Anarbayev, Business Development Director at Astana Motors.

As the authorized distributor of TELD electric charging equipment and operator of MyCharge charging stations, Astana Motors also looks forward to cooperating with domestic entrepreneurs interested in the construction and management of charging stations in Kazakhstan. “We are ready to share TELD’s advanced technologies and our own business expertise,” said Beknur Nesipbaev, CEO of Astana Motors.

Astana Motors and TELD New Energy Co. signed a distribution agreement in October 2023 in Beijing, during an official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the People’s Republic of China.

TELD develops equipment and software, has been operating its own charging stations for more than 10 years and has extensive analytical and engineering data in this area. The company contributes substantially to the development and updating of China’s laws in terms of standards for the construction and operation of charging stations, placing special emphasis on safety issues.
